It was such a daunting and time consuming task, but we finally did it. The day of the yard sale turned out fun for all of us, especially because there was a good amount of people who came by and much of the stuff occupying much of our garage is now gone. Posting the yard sale on Craigslist made a difference. Some people came for certain items I had listed in my post.
Alex and Zach were at their best behavior. David talked to the kids about our yard sale, and whatever it was he told them, it sure worked. They required little attention and enjoyed having people stop by to look at our stuff. Alex even got worried when there were no customers. Zach chatted the customers up, saying hi, talking about a black widow he saw, and who knows what else.
The highlight of our day was when Zach came out of the house, opened his hand to reveal a few coins he had found. He led David to a table, pointed at his rocket backpack and said that he wanted to buy it back. He was serious! I felt bad and almost kept the backpack, except that he really never used that bag. After some explanation, he got over it pretty quickly.
