For Zach's rocket party, he was very much decided on having it at Chuck E. Cheese, a restaurant and arcade venue for children. I'd rather have had the party at home, but he just loved the idea of having a birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese, and we haven't been taking the kids there often enough considering how much they like the place. And I must say, we were pleasantly surprised at the party they had for Zach and how happy and thrilled he was at everything. We had his party on a Thursday even though his birthday fell on a Saturday. Thursday meant less crowds, almost no line for most of the games, and just a more pleasant atmosphere, unlike weekends when it gets so chaotic and loud. Zach's best friend at school, Ryan, was able to attend making it extra special for Zach.
The next day, Friday, we had a pizza lunch at school with all his preschool friends. And on Saturday (his actual birthday) we stayed home, had a yard sale and played in the backyard.
