-- Alex and Zach were dressed for going to church on Christmas Eve . They rarely get dressed like this. It didn't take long for Zach to have his shirt out and Alex's one knee sock down to her ankle.
-- Alex made a gingerbread house at school (out of graham crackers). Sure enough, Zach wanted to make one too after seeing big sister's yummy house (I was expecting that). So we made one for Zach at home...see #4 pic.
-- Probably taking one too many pictures?
-- See #2
-- Christmas eve, we decided that this year the kids will help us bring the presents from the top of our entertainment center down to the tree. We usually wait until the kids are in bed sleeping when we do this. They were very good in not trying to open the presents that night, though Alex did want to take a peek at that one present.
-- Eating gingerbread men at the Riverside Festival of Lights.
-- Our Advent calendar this year: I used envelopes, numbered them from 1 to 25 and attached strings to hang them on this small tree. Inside the envelopes are messages I wrote (like "give mommy a hug today") and stickers, and as it gets closer to the 25th, some messages asked them to open a present from their stocking. We have been having different advent calendar systems each year so far, but the kids had a lot of fun with this one so perhaps we'll do this again.
-- Since the kids were born we have been putting all the presents on top of our entertainment center, out of reach from curious little hands. I think that next year the kids are ready to have the presents placed under the tree during the entire Christmas season, or maybe not!
-- Some of our Christmas lights. They seem to be increasing each year.
