It was a different Christmas day experience with my 5 and 4 year olds this year. Gone were the old days of impatiently opening one present and then immediately opening the next as if it were a race. This year they opened and admired a present and then moved on to another. It was more grown up than I expected and that made me sad. But it was calm and that made me feel good. One thing hasn't changed for sure, David is still the most eager to get up early and open presents. And he's NOT a morning person.
Zach got a beautiful quilt made by Grandma.
These two are getting smarter and smarter each year. I had to use a special Santa gift wrapper for their presents. Santa's presents were placed by our fireplace and not under out tree and when the kids first saw them, Alex said, "Did you put these presents there and not Santa?" I don't know how Christmas will be next year; these two are growing up too fast.
