Families of the graduates brought flowers and balloons to give to their graduate. I knew Alex noticed it and I wasn't surprised when she asked me what her present was. I only smiled at her (which is what I do when I don't know how to answer her question). I didn't think a kindergarten graduation would be a big deal. But of course it was for the graduate, silly me! It wouldn't be a special day without something out of the ordinary. So I went ahead and bought a few flowers from the grocery, added some more flowers from our yard, arranged them in a vase and tied a ribbon around the vase. It was waiting for her when she came home from school.
She loved it and felt special. She's now looking forward to first grade, but sometimes looks back at how fun Kindergarten had been. So far, she thinks it is the most fun class ever.
