Last Days Of Kindergarten

Alex's Kindergarten class had a fun and busy last few days of school.

Since their hours will be longer in first grade and they will be eating lunch at school, they had a trip to the cafeteria where they learned how to buy their lunch.

Then the school had a sports/play day. There were relay games and sport stations all over the campus that spilled out on to the park next to the school. Each station was manned by parent volunteers and the teachers brought their classes to each station. I helped Alex's teacher with her class and so I was able to take photos.

Then Alex got to play her dream sport. She has gotten better at hoola-hooping and had wondered about joining a hoola hoop contest (if ever there was one). And to her delight, there was one set up on sports day. So the children hoola-hooped, and if their hoop fell on the ground they had to sit down. The last person standing would win.

Pretty soon, there weren't too many players standing.

And then it was down to four, and then three and I realized that she could actually win this!

The three left didn't seem like they were getting tired so they were asked to lift one foot off the ground while hoola hooping, and hers fell down. I can tell she enjoyed the game. And yes, amazingly one girl in her class can hoola-hoop with one foot off the ground!

After the games, everyone had a BBQ lunch. Their principal grilled BBQ lunches as a treat for everyone!
