Alexandra, David's Daughter

She was into the Star Wars event at our library last night, I can tell. She was not quite comfortable having her picture taken with the costumed characters (Darth Vader and his Storm Troopers looked intimidating to me too). But she was satisfied with having her picture taken next to a life-sized cardboard image of Darth Vader, and thinks that she looked like the real R2D2 next to him. Zach, I think, was overwhelmed, but he did laugh out loud several times when Obi Wan Kanobi read the book "Don't Let The Pigeon Stay Up Late" to all the kids. He was also amused at the marching band playing Star Wars music.

In bed, the kids slept with their R2D2 masks in their room and Zach hugging the book, "Don't Let The Pigeon Stay Up Late."

David would have liked this event more, and would have been proud of his enthused daughter. Too bad he needed to be at his department's annual banquet. But I enjoyed it anyway because of the kids, Alexandra especially.
