Alex and Zach recently got their very first bikes. It was raining that day, so we had them ride in the garage.
Zach picked a blue bike because it had a handle brake. It was his deciding feature, not really for safety, but because it was like Daddy's bike -- a grown-up-looking bike.
Alexandra picked her pink and purple Barbie bike even though she's not into Barbie dolls (yet?). She wouldn't exactly say why, but I think it's because it had a small toy bike attached on the handle bars for a doll to ride on. She is just too embarassed to admit it.
They found amusement in trying to copy how Daddy bikes, even standing off the saddle at times. After a while, one of them accidentally ran over a bubble wrap on the ground and it made a lot of popping noises. So David brought out more bubble wrap and laid it on the ground in a path for more popping fun!
