Her missing front tooth was a good addition to her costume. She was dressed as a mummy, which she had decided on soon after last year's Halloween. I made her costume out of pieces of fabric which I stitched around her shirt and pants. I normally wouldn't make a costume. But tearing-up fabric and the sloppy stitching requirements made me confident to take on the task!
Zach was dressed as a Storm Trooper (from Star Wars) and acted the part well.

We went around our neighborhood to trick or treat.

What a big difference a year makes. This year David and I didn't have to walk up to the front door with them. They knew exactly what to do... that is, except for one time when Zach blurted out "I thought you were supposed to give us candy" after he got confused because he was handed a pencil.
And then we set up our table outside to wait for trick or treaters and give out candies. This was Zach's favorite part.
