The L.A. Times Festival of Books

Monday, April 27, 2009

We went to the L.A. Times Festival of Books at UCLA last Sunday. The weather was nice, and Alexandra and Zach were generally good. They enjoyed receiving give-aways from booths, so Alexandra was in bookmark heaven.

The kids met their first children's book authors that day. They met Ron Harner who wrote "Cool It, Frida!" and Laura Numeroff of "If You Give A Pig A Pancake". I thought this would be such a big deal for Alex since she once wanted to call up an author for making a mistake on one of her activity books. Though she was a bit shy (it's hard to tell sometimes what she's thinking), I have a feeling that, even for just a little bit, she thought it was neat.

Zach got very excited to see the Playhouse Disney Choo-Choo Soul performers and wanted to fall in line to talk to them and say hi, so we did. He was so happy to meet them and was given a photo with their autograph too! After we left, he held up the photo and asked, "What is this for?".

Can you find David and Zach in this crowd? :-)
