New Year 2011

We have been busy bees! There's something about the first month of the year that gives us a big boost of energy, plenty of motivation and optimism to take on tasks.  If not that, it is most likely David being off for his winter break.  Here are some of the things we've been up to...

On New Year's eve, we blew-up rocket balloons and woke the kids up a few minutes before midnight (they asked for us to wake them up, and boy were they cranky when we did!). We welcomed the year with lots of whistling noise from the rocket balloons.

 

 

Alex is learning to ride her bike without training wheels.

We watched another airshow and the parachutists were awesome as always.

Who knew a trip to Pet Smart could be a fun family activity.  And now we have new pets!

My sewing machine is back to work after a long hiatus, and is currently residing on our dining room table.

And David is training for another 55-mile bike tour in March.

Then things slowed down a bit when we all caught the flu, except for David who fortunately had the flu shot.
