As usual, I get the forced and cheesy smiles,

and goofy expressions.

There are also no longer just one, but now two assistant directors. Assistant director Zach wants the toys to be featured more than anything else.

We try out anything that could work. Like, thoughtfully looking into the distance (they certainly have different things going on in their minds!),

showing happiness that becomes overexcitement,

and just when I thought we got that perfect photo, one kid is not looking.

Or it is blurry!

Or worse, the other kid is starting to show signs of restlessness/boredom/annoyance all together.

This year, I got questioned by one of the kids as to the importance of this holiday photo. I was caught off guard. Made me think!

We now have another set of memories for us to look back on and plenty of photos reminding us of how little they used to be, which they can show their kids and their kids' kids when they all grow up! It is important to me.
